SPOILER: You are not too old to start and you are certainly not too old to continue.
Stay on the ice as long as you wish, dear.
Every skaters share this one thing. Yes, even public skaters and Olympians share this.
It is time to bridge the gap.
Once a figure skater, always a figure skater. Even as a coach, you are still a figure skater in my eyes.
You pour everything into other skaters. Why not you?
Who is Phantom?
I am a woman that loves figure skating dearly.
I owe my life to the ice.
I exist only in written or spoken word and it is my duty to:
guide you through the highs and lows of figure skating
offer words of encouragement
provide a space to think critically about figure skating
Apart from social media…
You can find me cheering you on from the rafters of your rink (as I am just a ghost).
*******
Can you tell me the one thing that connects every figure skater regardless if you started yesterday or have found yourself on the highest Olympic podium once or twice?
The ice.
There is enough dissonance in figure skating. It is time to bridge the gap and push this sport to a new limit. (One that nobody has even thought of yet.)
Figure skating can be cold, so feel free to take your coat off and stay a while. I’d love to have you.
Stay warm,
Phantom
